Lake Berryessa is a paddler's heaven, with breathtaking views and diverse natural beauty that are nearly impossible to resist.This enormous California lake provides a peaceful, year-round setting with pleasant temperatures, making it an ideal destination for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and camping.

Brilliant sunrises and sunsets, sunny days, and hours of exploration in secluded coves create endless pleasures for visitors. The sheltered southwestern arms are especially inviting, with an abundance of protected inlets perfect for wildlife viewing.

Lake Berryessa is a premier destination for birdwatching, particularly during spring and fall migrations. Sightings of deer, coyote, bobcat, skunk, and grey fox along the shoreline add to the wildlife spectacle.Two marinas and three recreation areas with concessions serve paddlers, who can also hand-launch from access points to explore the entire lake.

The Putah Canyon Campground, located only half a mile north of Pope Canyon Road on Berryessa Knoxville Road, offers a picturesque lakefront setting. The majority of the campsites at this picturesque spot are right on the water's edge, allowing visitors to easily launch their kayaks and have direct access to the lake from their campsites.

Fantastic campsite settings and hiking trails through oak-dotted hills promise endless adventure both on and around the water.
